Picking a stick3 questions
Is an All Hockey stick worth it?
The AH26 is built with pro level carbon construction, so you get a light stick with a quick release and great puck feel without paying a big brand price. That is the whole reason All Hockey exists: pro level performance for every player. The Senior weighs about 365 grams, give or take 15. Check out the full lineup on our hockey sticks page.
What is the difference between the AH26 Senior, Intermediate and Junior?
The AH26 Senior is $179 in 70, 75, 85 and 95 flex. The AH26 Intermediate is $169 in 55 and 65 flex, and the AH26 Junior is $139 in 30, 40 and 50 flex. All three come in AH28, AH92 and AH86, lefty or righty, in black or white.
Which size should my player be in?
At All Hockey we go by height and weight, not age. Roughly, Junior fits about 4'2" to 5'1" and 50 to 110 lb, Intermediate fits about 5'2" to 5'8" and 100 to 140 lb, and Senior fits about 5'9" and up and 140 lb and up. Intermediate is the most overlooked size, so do not rush a 12 to 15 year old into a senior stick they can't flex.
Curve1 question
What curves does All Hockey carry?
Every AH26 comes in three curves, lefty and righty. The AH92 (P92 pattern) is a mid heel curve with an open face, the AH28 (P28 pattern) is our biggest curve with a big toe and open face, and the AH86 (P86 pattern) is our newest with more toe than the 92. See them side by side on the Stick Curve Chart.
Height and length2 questions
How do I size my stick height?
In skates, stand the stick straight up on its toe in front of you and the top should land between your chin and your mouth. In shoes, take away about an inch since skates add 1 to 1.5 inches. Shorter helps stickhandling and longer gives reach for snap shots and defense. The full walkthrough is in What Size Hockey Stick Do I Need?.
How long are All Hockey sticks?
All Hockey measures from the floor to the top of the stick, not from the heel like most big brands. Junior 30 flex is 52", 40 flex is 56" and 50 flex is 58", Intermediate 55 and 65 flex are 62", and Senior 70 flex is 65" with 75, 85 and 95 flex at 66". To compare with another brand, our 65" is about their 60".
Flex2 questions
What flex should I use for my weight?
The usual rule of thumb is about half your body weight, so a 100 lb player starts around 50 flex. At All Hockey we say use that as a starting point and then go lower, since most players are on a stick that is way too stiff. Bailey is 210 lbs and uses a 75 flex. If you can't put a visible bend in the stick when you lean on it, go lower.
What happens to flex when I cut my stick?
The flex number is rated at the full uncut length, so cutting it makes the stick stiffer, roughly 3 to 5 flex points per inch. Cut 2 or 3 inches off a 65 flex and it plays more like a 75. If you know you will cut, start with a lower flex. Adding an extension does the opposite and plays a little softer.
Fittings1 question
Does All Hockey do stick fittings?
Yes! Bailey does in person fittings at the All Hockey Shooting Center in Irving, TX, and 30 minute virtual fittings on Google Meet for $25. We look at your curve, lie, length, flex and blade angle and figure out what fits your game. See the Shooting Center or Virtual Offerings pages.
Buying and ordering2 questions
How do custom sticks work?
On our custom hockey stick you pick curve, hand, flex, color and a custom name or number, with most patterns and the full flex range available. It goes into production the moment payment is received and turnaround is about 6 weeks. Custom stick height is measured from the floor to the top of the stick against a wall.
Does All Hockey do team and bulk orders?
Yes. Need 10 or more AH26 sticks and Bailey can set you up with team pricing, and you can mix Senior, Intermediate and Junior for your roster. Bulk custom sticks with player names and numbers take about 6 weeks, and custom mini sticks have a 50 minimum. Request a quote on the Team and Bulk Orders page.
